iPhone and iPod Touch Development
Funky People has recently added to its portfolio a capability to develop
Apps for Apple's
iPhone
and
iPod Touch.
Apple created a great deal of interest when they first unveiled the iPhone: a mobile phone,
a (very useable) mobile web browser, and a video iPod all in one slick device with an always-on
Internet connection. Recently Apple have raised the bar by unveiling the next generation
iPhone 3G, a device notable not so much for its improved specifications (including 3G support
and A-GPS), but more interestingly because:
- it will be available in Australia as of 11th July on the Vodafone, Optus and Telstra
networks;
- it incorporates a number of enterprise features that make it attractive to the "big end
of town"; and
- it allows developers like Funky People to create their own iPhone Apps, and to
distribute these via Apple's AppStore.
Funky People has been working with the iPhone and iPod Touch Software Development Kit (SDK) since
its first beta release, learning the finer points of developing
Apps for the platform.
We are currently working on our own
Apps ideas, and so coming to terms with
Objective-C and XCode, Cocoa Touch, Core Location, networking and reachability, SQLite, and other
associated technologies.
Funky People believes that there is a synergy between the iPhone and iPod Touch platform, and the
technologies where we have existing expertise (e.g., Business-to-Business systems and Web
Services, Java/J2EE).
Please contact us to discuss your iPhone and iPod Touch development requirements.
